About the Role

As the first engineering hire, we are looking for someone who wants to get their hands dirty in all aspects of building a great product not just writing code. You will be reporting to the CTO and working together to build our product. You will work closely with both product and design team to shape the product and determine the best way to deliver value to our customers.

You will be hands on coding, documenting our decisions, communicating with customers, and constantly be working on the company's top priorities.

About You

You care about the product and what value we are delivering to the customer. You recognize that it takes a team of diverse skills and opinions to build a great product. You want to be involved in how we make decisions as a company/team. You push back on your peers and superiors to stand up for what you believe is the right decision for the customer. You pushed to make changes in teams and companies you have worked at before. You are self driven.

  • 5-8 years experience working on Ruby on Rails (or similar) applications
  • You’re proficient in frontend development, both CSS and JavaScript best practices
  • You enjoy all aspects of software development (backend and frontend)
  • You enjoy writing tests and think about the sustainability of your code.
  • Excited about working at an early stage company

Nice to haves

  • You’ve worked in a regulated industry or with customer funds (account ledger systems)
  • You enjoy design and care about the aesthetics of what you're building
  • You have contributed to open source projects

Compensation

  • $155k-$200k DOE
  • 0.5-1% equity

Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
